Hi Stéphane, we would refer the customer to the manufacturers recommendation for your disposal as it can be dependent on the Size (1 HP, 3/4 HP or ½ HP). Also note that residential and commercial disposals may dispose of different food bits more efficiently.
Thanks,

Thanks Lou. Great tips. Much appreciated. I’m new to Florida and this type of garbage disposal. Can you elaborate on what foods go into this type of garbage disposal and which ones don’t ?
Thanks!

Thanks for visiting our site, Julie!
We do not recommend flushing or pouring oil of any kind down your drain. Although it would seemingly lubricate the disposal, the engine is not exposed to the water/sink contents and the oil may solidify in your pipes and cause clogs.
We would recommend cold water and the occasional orange, lime, or lemon to disinfect and clean naturally (might as well take advantage of Florida fruit while you're here!).

I have a condo in Florida and I use it only 6 months a year. I was told to pour Olive oil in the disposal when I leave for the year, to keep it lubricated. Is this a good idea?
